今日は処暑、
暑さも峠を越したような気もするけれど、
まだまだ油断大敵、暑い　（笑）
しかし何日、真夏日、猛暑日が続いているんだろう、
夜も気温が高いまま、熱帯夜は辛いわ。

今年は桃オンリーのケーキを食べ損ねてしまった、残念・・・
代わりのフルーツケーキ、桃も入ってたぁ～　＾＾

Many of you may not realize that when I met David Miller 16 year ago I was practically a different person. I had grown up in a conservative religious world where most of what I would come to know as my authentic artistic self was not encouraged or even acceptable. A prominent leader in my church once asked me if I was sure I wanted to pursue opera as he didn’t see how I could serve the lord by telling stories he perceived as ungodly. I’m sure it was a well meaning comment, but the question would roll around in my psyche for years as I tried to develop my artistry while also being a vague and colorless good girl.

I tell you this story to set the stage for what it was like to encounter the audacious, unfiltered, brazen, fearless, full-hearted guy that I ran away with so many years ago. It was transformative to be near his freedom and imagination. It gave me permission to locate and nurture my own expression in ways I never thought possible, and to truly become myself.

Our movie that we made is available today. I never in my wildest dreams imagined I’d be in a movie. But “beyond my wildest dreams” is what it has felt like to be his wife and artistic partner, and I could not be prouder of what he envisioned and created.

Thank you all for supporting him, and us, as we continue to look for ways we can bring beauty into the world.
